Illinois River Energy Adopt A Highway!

On Saturday, September 24, 2011, Illinois River Energy participated in its first Adopt-A-Highway trash pickup. Nine IRE volunteers including family members walked a two-mile stretch along Route 251 cleaning up and bagging trash. In view of the fact that IRE takes pride in and is committed to giving back to the community, the Company has committed to remove litter from IRE’s section of the highway at least four times a year for the next two years.

“The Adopt-A-Highway program brings citizen volunteers into partnerships with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) to pick up trash and keep our roadsides clean. This program also educates and encourages people to stop littering.
